Here at Stockport College we do our best to keep employers informed of any changes to legislation that may/will affect the employment of apprentices.

For example: Did you know that from August 2009 the Learning and Skills Council now requires that all full time employed apprentices receive at least £95.00 per week.

You will be aware of the national minimum wage in Britain. However, Apprentices aged 16 – 18 are not currently covered and apprentices aged 19 – 25 are not covered in their first year.

All learners are entitled to time off for study and a contract of employment verbal or written, to find out more please visit the websites below.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact the Work Based Learning Team, at Stockport College on 0161 958 3325
