Apprenticeship Programmes

Apprentices work at a company and earn a wage, whilst also attending college in order to work towards National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs). There are two levels of apprenticeship; apprenticeship and advanced apprenticeship, which are NVQ Level 2 and 3 respectively. Stockport College offers Apprenticeships in the areas below:

Both Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships involve specific training to each individual occupational area. Apprentices also receive training in general key skills that are important for all jobs, such as communication, numeracy and IT. All apprentices attend college to build up their skills and understanding of their occupational area, whilst working towards a National Vocational Qualification ( NVQ).

A new Advanced Apprenticeship is now available for Chemical and Engineering industries - download a flyer available here!
