Awards Night Recognises Student Successes

Stockport College held its annual Further Education student awards ceremony at Stockport County last night (July 5th).

With around 70 students nominated by staff for outstanding academic progress and contributions to the college, they were welcomed back to be honoured in front of friends, family and teaching staff.

The ceremony was hosted by Melanie Hargrave-Mccomb, Associate Director of Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare, who provided a fantastic evening of entertainment, accompanied by Campus Principal James Scott.

The outstanding Stockport students were praised for their excellent academic achievements and the exceptional personal qualities, which helped them to reach their goals.

In recognition of their achievements, all winners received an engraved glass award. Most of those who received awards had done so for completing their vocational qualifications; however each student received a personalised quote from the teaching staff to accompany their award, many of which were inspiring to hear. From overcoming personal barriers to charitable contributions and engagement with the wider college, students were truly praised for going above and beyond.

The full programme from the evening is available online, with a list of all students who were nominated for an award: Further Education Student Awards Ceremony Programme.
