What is a Care Cadet?

The 18 week Care Cadets course is aimed at helping young people to get into careers in care. This course starts on the 4th April and will take place at both Cheadle & Marple Sixth Form College and Stockport College of Further & Higher Education. Social Services will provide work placements for 3 days
per week during the course.


What's in it for me?

You will:

  • earn £50 per week, plus additional incentive payments
  • gain experience from qualified staff within the care industry
  • have a work placement within adult social care 3 days per week
  • have the opportunity to progress onto level 2 apprenticeship
  • have the opportunity to gain related qualifications such as First Aid
  • have the choice of attending either College for your learning
  • complete a relatively short course - 18 week introductory programme.
