Debut students enjoy special workshop

Students from the Debut Dance Academy have been lucky enough to enjoy a one off workshop courtesy of one of this country’s most prolific dance and music theatre institutions.

Steph Rojas, from the Arts Educational School, gave a whole day’s workshop on Jazz technique and acting through song. The workshop included audition technique in dancing, acting and singing, whilst the students received insightful individual feedback, something which was extremely valuable to students who are looking to continue their education in performing arts at stage schools in London.

The Arts Educational School is one of the leading dance and musical theatre schools in the world and has helped develop students for careers on the West-End and Broadway, as well as some who want to break into Hollywood.

The school has paved the way to a successful career for a host of performers including household names such as Julie Andrews, Martin Clunes and Hollyoaks actor Danny Mac.

Alexandra Waddacor, who is currently in her second year doing a Level 3 BTEC in Performing Arts, said that the workshop “blew their minds”. Alexandra and many others in their second year at Debut will be auditioning for the Arts Educational School among other London based stage schools as they complete their final year on the dance pathway at Debut Arts

Ryan James, Artistic Director at Debut Arts, said of the workshop: “Our students dream of a career upon the stage and having workshops such as these, inspire and push our students to their maximum potential.”
