

Welcome to the curriculum area of Building and Civil Engineering. The courses offered are:
The HNC is aimed at students in full-time employment from a range of working environments e.g. consultants and design engineers, local authorities and utilities industries. Some are looking to enhance and develop their existing knowledge and skills, others to improve their career opportunities.
The HNC is a two year part time course one day per week. The HNC Construction, Civil Engineering, and BSE have various pathways. This provides students nad employers with choice and flexibility of specialism that can be selected in the first or second year. Students can return after completion to undertake additional units to broaden their skills and knowledge.
The courses have been developed with industry to ensure students are provided with the skills and knowledge needed for them to progress and attain Chartered Institute membership in the future. Our delivery team includes five practicing consultants and subject specialists with vast amounts of current industrial experience. Feedback form completing students confirms the courses are challenging and have contributed to career advancement. The time spent at college also provides the opportunity to meet others involved with the sector, to make new friends and share experiences.
