

What types of engineering programmes are offered?

These courses are designed to prepare you for a range of technical and management careers as an engineer or technician. In addition the courses will allow for the range of academic progression routes that can lead to Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
How are the programmes structured?
There are more than thirty subject units available to study on our Higher National programmes with an emphasis on flexibility, and tailoring programmes of study to suit. This flexibility has attracted many major regional employers, along with the many small business supporting the career development of their employees.
What can I do with my qualification?
There are recognised career progression routes for both HNC and HND learners to the 2nd/3rd year of a degree or honours degree courses, depending on the match of units. Both HNCs and HNDs also offer a progression route to professional qualifications offered by the Engineering Council UK and relevant licensed member organisations. The programmes provide a strong basis for progression to Incorporated and Chartered Engineer level via further learning. The delivery team includes three Chartered Engineers with considerable industrial experience and one Doctorate.

All applicants will be interviewed and undergo an initial assessment. There is currently a high demand for the provision and spaces are limited.
