Why Stockport College?
Stockport College is an important provider of Higher Education in the area and we believe there are a number of reasons why you should choose to study here. The cost of living is increasing, and therefore it certainly pays to stay local.
For full time students, our tuition fees are lower than many universities. Our generous bursaries and other means of financial support make it easier to manage your budget. The Stockport College bursary of £1000 will be available to full time students with a household income of £60,000 or less and does not have to be repaid. Part time students aren’t left out. Our tuition fees are competitively priced and financial help may be available from our Access toLearning Fund.
All our degree programmes are awarded by one of our partner Universities. We offer degrees from Liverpool John Moores University, The University of Central Lancashire and Manchester Metropolitan University. These are complemented by a wide range of BTEC Higher National, University Certificate and Professional qualifications. You can begin at the level which suits you and work up to a full Higher Education qualification in a range of subjects, all within one institution and in many cases at times and modes which suit you whether it be full time or
part time.
Our staff are highly qualified and we have many years experience of supporting students through their courses.
Because we are smaller than most universities, you never feel lost or just one of the crowd. Our group sizes are suitably small, and tutors are easily available and supportive. We are able to spend just that little bit more time with you in the classroom, workshop or while you are on workbased learning as you gain knowledge, skills and independence.
Our links with local industry and other organisations are excellent, so you know your course will prepare you for that new career or promotion at work. Stockport College is an ideal place to study. Situated in the centre of the town, we are just a stone’s throw from the excitement of Central Manchester and close to the contrasting peace of the Peak District.
