Studying English as an International Student

We have a comprehensive range of English levels and courses for students who need to perfect their language skills both for social and academic reasons.  Our ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Department has many years of experience, successfully enabling students to develop their skills and go on to further and higher qualifications. 

Because Stockport College has such a wide range of courses in general, if you study English with us you could even stay on to do further courses in other departments, like many students have done in the past. 

All international students who are studying with us on other courses are also entitled to English support alongside their main study area.  For further information visit ESOL –English for Speakers of Other Languages/International - bear in mind that Tier 4 Visas are only valid for 4 years and will not be extended beyond this.

HOME OFFICE REQUIREMENT:

In order to obtain an Adult Visa anyone that is 18 years old or over can study no lower than Waystage A2 of the Common European Framework (CEFR). 

This means that prospective students will need evidence of being capable to study at this level (previous qualifications/certificates from school as example).
