Additional Learning Support Services

Services for Students with a Physical Disability

We are committed to achieving equality of opportunity for all people who study at the college.


Before starting a programme of study we can offer:-

  • informal discussion about your study support needs and advice about the support available to you
  • support services for your interview
  • initial assessment of your study support needs

Once enrolled on a programme of study we have a range of study support services that you might use.

These may include:-

  • specialist assessment of your needs
  • a writer and note-taker for lectures, tutorials and placements
  • mobility assistant/study support assistant
  • loan of equipment to use in college or at home
  • use of Information Communication Technology in LearningResource Centres
  • use of Resource Based Learning Room and teaching staff

Arrangements for examinations and assessments

Arrangements to meet individual needs must be approved by relevant Examination Boards. Please tell us early on in your course about any arrangements you might need.

These may include:-

  • extra time
  • a reader, writer
  • rest breaks
  • use of computer, other technology or equipment
  • practical assessment
  • appropriate accommodation

Disabled Students' Allowances for Higher Education Students

Information sessions and how to apply for allowances are held in the first term/semester.
